Bishop-Matthew-Hassan-KukahPresident Goodluck Jonathan has commended the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah’s single-minded dedication to the service of God and the well-being of his countrymen, women and children.

Mr. Jonathan, who stated this in a congratulatory message to Bishop Kukah on the occasion of his 61st birthday, wished the clergyman many more years of good health and fulfillment in the service of God and humanity.

A statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, quoted Mr. Jonathan as writing, “On behalf of my family, the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I congratulate you as you mark your 61st birthday anniversary on Saturday, the 31st of August, 2013.

“I join your family, friends and well-wishers to thank Almighty God for His continued guidance, protection and provision for you in the past 61 years of a life marked by single-minded dedication to the service of God and the good of our common humanity.

“I wish you a very happy birthday and many more years of abounding health and enduring fulfillment,” the President further wrote in his letter to the Bishop.
