Maintain Peace, Security In Your Domain – Gov. Ahmed Tells Traditional Rulers

abdulfatah_ahmedGov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara on Friday told traditional rulers in the state to ensure sustenance of peace and security in their respective domains.

Mr. Ahmed made the call in Yashikira and Gwanra communities in the Baruten Local Government Area of the state at the foundation laying ceremony of the palaces of the emirs of the two communities.

The governor, who was represented by Issa Bawa, the state’s Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, also urged benefiting monarchs to ensure proper maintenance of the projects.

“The construction of befitting palaces is a unique way of uplifting the living standard of royal fathers in line with their status in the community.

“It is also the part of a determination to ensure the comfort and welfare of the royal fathers at all times,” he said.

Mr. Ahmed asserted that the building of the two palaces would cost N59.79 million each and that the projects were expected to be completed within four months.

He announced that government would build palaces for two other paramount rulers in the council after completion of the current ones.

The governor noted it was a mutual agreement among the traditional rulers that the second phase of the project should cover palaces of the Emirs of Okuta and Ilesha Baruba.

The Chairman of Baruten Local Government Council, Lafia Aliyu-Kora, said that his mission as the council boss would not have been accomplished without the project being put in place. He said that as the former Secretary of the Baruten Emirate Council, he felt honoured by the projects.
