PDP Crisis: 90 Per Cent Of Nigerians With PDP, Jonathan – Presidency Tells Aggrieved Governors

AMAECHI-NORTHERN-GOVThe presidency has advised the seven aggrieved Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP governors to retrace their steps as they are on the ‘wrong path.’

The Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, who made this position known while speaking at a post-convention dinner held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Sunday, was making reference to the conspicuous absence of the “G-7” at the event which attracted the remaining 16 PDP governors and other party big-wigs.

Gulak said by making their presence felt at the dinner, the 16 governors had demonstrated their loyalty and support to President Jonathan.

He said: “Loyalty and support are not by mouth, but by actions. 90 percent of Nigerians are with the president and the PDP. We have many governors of the PDP here. Nobody is left out.

“Those who are not here are clearly on the wrong path. They’d better retrace their steps and come back to follow the right path. God has packaged Nigeria and put it under Jonathan’s leadership. God does not make any mistake,” he added.

The 16 governors in attendance were those of Enugu, Abia, Katsina, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Ebonyi, Kogi, Benue, Kebbi, Cross River, Delta, Kaduna, Plateau, Bayelsa, Bauchi and Taraba (acting governor).

The absentee governors were the usual suspects: Sule Lamido (Jigawa State), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Muazu Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (Kano) and Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto).
