Tottenham Hotspur have secured the services of Christian Eriksen from Dutch champions Ajax for £11.5m.
The 21-year-old Denmark international becomes the third player to arrive at White Hart Lane in 24 hours following the recruitment of Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches and Argentina striker Erik Lamela.
“Everyone has followed the development of Spurs and it’s something I want to be part of,” said Erikson.
Spur’s summer spending is likely to increase to over £105m on completion of Erikson’s deal.
He becomes the seventh player signed by Spurs all summer following the arrival of Paulinho, Ettienne Capoue, Soldado and Nacer Chadli.
Meanwhile Manchester City are on the verge of landing defender Martin Demichelis from Atletico Madrid.
The 32-year-old Argentina international is expected to sign a £4.2m deal with the Premier League outfit few months after moving to Madrid on a free transfer from Malaga.
The defender is expected to become surplus to Diego Simeone’s requirement as Atletico are set to sign Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld, 24.
Demichelis played under City boss Manuel Pellegrini at Malaga and River Plate and will help provide cover for the injure Vincent Kompany in the defence, on completion of the deal.
