Nwofor, who netted a brace for coach Stephen Keshi’s team in an international friendly against South Africa earlier this month, left relegated VVV- Venlo to sign for Heerenveen on Friday, his agent Tony Harris revealed to supersport.com.

“Uche has signed on loan for SC Heerenveen. He is excited about the move. Heerenveen is a great club and he will work under the wings of legendary Marco van Basten. I am convinced he will develop further,” said Harris.

The former under-20 striker was reportedly linked with a host of Premier League clubs including Tottenham and Arsenal before opting to remain in Holland at Heerenveen.

The 21-year-old, who started with Anambra Pillars FC, joined VVV Venlo from Enugu Rangers in August 2011.
