UNBELIEVABLE: Pastor Rapes Woman In Church During ‘Spiritual Bath’

A 46-year-old Pastor, Olamide Sobowale, of Glory Church of Christ Aladura, Oke-Itoku, Abeokuta, Ogun State,  has been ordered to be remanded in prison for allegedly raping a woman while bathing in his church backyard.

Pastor Sobowale, who  was arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Isabo, Abeokuta, yesterday, was accused of  raping one Dupe Makinde, 30, who lives in Isaje, Abeokuta, while taking a spiritual bath  allegedly  recommended by the pastor.

The prosecuting counsel, Paul Etusi, told the court that the accused grabbed the complainant while she was in  a bathroom within the church premises and raped her.

Etusi said the complainant had already put the  soap on her face as she began bathing when the pastor suddenly entered the bathroom, grabbed and  raped her with soap on her face.

According to Etusi, the accused had told Mrs. Makinde that he had a vision about the her and asked her  to come for deliverance in his church.

He said: “He asked the woman to come to the church to take a spiritual bath for her deliverance,  but, while the complainant was taking her bath, the accused barged into the  bathroom, grabbed the woman and  raped her.

“The accused  has committed an offence contrary to section 357 and punishable under section 358 of criminal code of law of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2006.”

Magistrate A. Araba after listening to the prosecuting counsel, ordered that  the accused be remanded  in prison till he gets advice from the Director of Public Prosecution and adjourned the case till September 16,2013.

  1. Let Men and women strive to be a home with the scripture. What is spiritual bath. Let them assess the claims very well. That woman hasn’t revealed how it all began. Thar man is not a pastor at all. Call him one spiritualist. He ius a brute

  2. what sort of rubish is this from those that called themself a man of God, look at that proberbly he most has is owned wife at home, he may even have two or three wifes at home..

  3. Please don’t say much on this issue cos the woman never had a bathroom and soap what was her desire for spiritual bath? Where is it found in the bible to have a bath with water and soap in order to be cleansed ? The Devil has no free gift take affluence and give you head (life) in exchange

  4. This is one of the things dat happen 2 those who go about for mirace. Self deliverance is d best one can have. Hope many others will learn from this.

  5. What is really wrong with Yoruba people? All their pastors are rapist, womanizers and demonic. We need to sanction the Yoruba people for the level of corruption they have smeared Nigeria with and shaming us in the eyes of the world or better we ostracize them out of Nigeria!

  6. Everybody is just saying what each likes concerning the matter. Some are even talking off the horizon. The matter goes beyond only yoruba but to majority of the pastors in the world. But you pple will always put your cruel judgement on a particular tribe. Even if your hausa or igbo pastors don’t defile or casanovarise women, don’t they have their blemish attached to them? Only that in islamic perception where polygamy is permitted, once refrained from, this is the kind of occurrences that will always emerge as a result

  7. I am not a christian so l do not know how the Churches/Pastors function. But going by the report as given here, l think many details are missing, for instance, nothing was said about the pastor’s reaction to the charge. So the case is too simple, l mean it lacks details (as reported here).

Seducing, framing…well we must not jump to conclusion. The court is in control.
