600 Pumpkins Stolen From Long Island Farm

Police said 600 pumpkins worth $4,200 were stolen from a Long Island, N.Y., farm.

The pumpkins were stolen either late Sept. 30 or early Monday at the Rottkamp Farm in Calverton, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.

“Obviously, whoever took them is going to sell them,” said Detective Timothy Hubbard of the Riverhead Town Police.

“I can’t imagine anybody having another use for 600 pumpkins,” he added. “That would be a lot of pie.”
