Akpabio Swears In New Commissioners, Adviser, Tasks Them On Service Delivery

Godswill AkpabioGov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom has charged newly sworn in Commissioners and Special Adviser in the state to shun ethnic politics.

Akpabio gave the directive on Tuesday at the swearing-in ceremony of the commissioners in Uyo.

The commissioners sworn in were Mr Godwin Ntukude, Mr Monday Uko, Mr Akan Okon, Mr Ufot Toby Nkangude and Mr Emmanuel Ibiok as a Special Adviser.

Akpabio, who did not assign portfolio immediately, said they were being brought into the cabinet to strengthen the wheel of the uncommon transformation of the state.

“This occasion, therefore is a step in our efforts to reinvigorate and strengthen service delivery to the good people of Akwa Ibom State.

“We have within the last six years, built our state in line with the dreams of our forebears.

“We have come to a critical point in our journey as a state that demands that we introduce fresh hands into the affairs of governance, “Akpabio said.

He reiterated that his government was based on values and would strive to provide leadership for all segments of the society.

The governor advised the appointees to see the entire state as their constituency.

“We expect you to help us to remain a promise-keeping and purposeful government; a government that does not play politics with projects”. He said. (NAN)
