Armoured Cars Scam: Igbo Youths Protest Call For Oduah’s Sack

Hundreds of Igbo youths, under the aegis of Igbo Progressive Union (IPU), yesterday, embarked on a peaceful protest against the calls for the sack of Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah, over the controversial purchase of armoured cars.

Led by High Chief George Nwabueze, the kinsmen of the embattled minister from Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State, also exonerated her from any wrongdoing in the purchase of the cars.

According to Nwabueze, the target of those calling for the head of Oduah was President Goodluck Jonathan whose second term ambition in 2015 they have vowed to stop by all means.

Carrying placards with different inscriptions, the protesters accused an unnamed personality of being behind the calls for the removal of the minister, insisting that the intention was to stop Oduah from going ahead with her transformation agenda in the aviation sector.

Speaking on behalf of the group, their leader, Emeka Agbo, a student of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, said Igbo youths were prepared to go the whole hog in ensuring that their daughter was protected.

They also expressed dismay that some highly placed individuals were determined to rubbish the achievements of the minister.

  1. This country is finished, am so disturbed by the shameless attitude of some youth all in the name of tribalism supporting corruption. What’s is the need of the complaints by youths of unemployment when the resources that could be used to create industries are been used for selfish purpose. I think with the way the orientation of some youths are, particularly those of SS/SE supporting corruption and NE/NW giving shield to B Haram, what’s is left for this country is for each tribe to part ways, because our values are so different. I weep for Nigeria.

  2. Wat a tribe! Igbo….Do dis guys (protesting igbo youth)know there left from right. I doubt if dey really know d situation of d aviation sector. Am much convinced dat d woman in question has bought d future of dis NO FUTURE AMBITION YOUTHS wt money. Senseless young minds, better go and find meaning thing to do wt ur life

  3. Youth or no youth, they r other responsible nigeria like me who want dis country to move forward. If she is wrong of her did, dat office is nt her father wealth, but if she is nt wrong, nigeria simple allow dis woman to build avaition industies as she doin. Make i no swear 4 una-o , bcos una nonsense don 2 much, papa no bi papa, mama no bi mama, pikin no bi pikin. Insort i go swear 4 una 1day.

  4. Igbo people na foolish people them be self. Wot do they kno wen it come to the area of political mismanagement. All wot they kno is how to do business and stole peoples good. odee.
