Lagos State sports officials have gone back on their promise to foot the bill involved in accommodating Nigerian athletes for the conditioning camp ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Athletic Federation of Nigeria (AFN) president Solomon Ogba had met with the Lagos State sports council officials at the Rowe Park in Yaba, Lagos, where they got assurance that Lagos will accommodate the athletes.
The AFN afterwards planned to have two camps; one in Lagos and the other in the Federal Capital Territory, but that of Lagos it was gathered will not hold as the federation has been asked to cough out N2m for the Teslim Balogun Stadium Hostels.

The Technical Director of the AFN, Navy Commodore Omatseye Nesiama, have directed all 74 invited home-based athletes, coaches and officials to report at the NSCDC Training Academy along Umar Musa Yar’Adua Road (Airport Road) Abuja on October 27.
