FCMB Governor’s Cup Day Two: Six Nigerians Lose Out in Round One.

Six Nigerian players crashed out in the first round of the singles draw of the Governor’s Cup Futures 1 on Tuesday at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.

Bolaji Olawepo was the first to exit the tournament, losing 2-6, 2-6 to India’s eighth seed Ranjeet Virali- Muguresan.

A member of Nigeria’s Davis Cup Henry Atseye, also ended his hopes of reaching the second round of the tournament sponsored by the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), losing 1-6, 6-0 to another of India’s player Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan.

Abdulmarik Kabiru was beaten by Croatia’s sixth seed Borma Coric in a match which ended in a double (6-0, 6-0).

Samuel Omoile, another Nigerian player lost to fifth seed Dino Marcan 3-6, 2-6.
