Fifa have granted Nigeria U-20 striker Olarenwaju Kayode provisional clearance to join Heartland following his transfer logjam.
Kayode’s agent, Emeka Ezeala, disclosed that the decision was taken by a single judge of the Fifa Player’s status committee on Friday.
He told MTNFootball.com that Fifa has authorised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to register Kayode with Heartland Football Club of Owerri with immediate effect.
“Justice has been served and the player is free to now resume his career after a major decision was taken on his future,” Ezeala told MTNFootball.com.
Heartland loaned out the Flying Eagles forward to Maccabi Netanya at the end of his contract with Ivoirian club Asec Mimosas and the Fifa judgement translates he could now start training with the Israeli club.
“He has been training with Netanya and now with this decision he can start playing official matches for the club,” the player’s agent added.
Asec Mimosas insisted the striker’s contract runs out after November following his claim that he doesn’t not have a contract with the Ivoirians.
