Glo Premier League Matchday 36: Enyimba Stays on Track for League and Cup Double.

Andrew Abalogu scored the match winner for Enyimba, who claimed a 1-0 over ABS, mounting pressure on Kano Pillars, 2-1 losers against Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe.

Enyimba are now second on the 20-team league standings with 59 points from 35 matches, one point adrift of Pillars who remained on 60 point at the summit, while Bayelsa United and El-Kanemi Warriors both lost.

Abalogu’s solitary strike came in the 66th minute, but the striker refused to celebrate against his former club.

Babangida Ibrahim opened scoring for Gombe United in the 35th minute before Sani Mohammed made 2-0 in the 74th. Pillars’ Gambo Mohammed netted a consolatory goal late on in the second-half.

Kaduna United downed Bayelsa United 1-0, thanks to Monday Palmeirass 21st-minute penalty. The Yenagoa-based club are now third on the league log as they remain on 58 points from 36 games.

Heartland dealt a 1-0 blow on El-Kanemi Warriors on Saturday. Bright Ejike scored a 57th minute penalty for the hosts, stopping the Maiduri-based outfit from climbing top of the league.
