Iheanacho Will Be Alright for Eaglets’ Quarter-Final Tie- Garba Plays down Injury Fears.

Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba, says he expects (team) leading scorer Kelechi Iheanacho to be fit and ready for Saturday’s FIFA U-17 World Cup quarter-final clash with Group B winners Uruguay.

Iheanacho, who is the tournament’s second joint top-scorer with five goals to his credit so far, was bundled out of Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Iran minutes after scoring Nigeria’s second goal.

“It is a minor injury and Iheanacho should be back for the next game,” Garba said.

The Eaglets tactician also dismissed allegations of over-aged player leveled against his team by Iran coach Ali Doustimehr after yesterday’s loss.

“All the players we have here passed the MRI test and we even conducted another round one month before we came here and we would probably take on the Iranian coach on this,” he explained.
