JUTH FC Closes Shop

JUTH FC have ended its 27-year reign as a professional football club due to a cash crunch.

The Jos-based club, who traditionally plays its home matches at the Rwang Pam Stadium (before the 2010 Jos riots), produced stars like Ahmed Musa and Kehinde Fatai amongst many.

MTNFootball.com confirmed from a goalkeeper of the team, Gyang Musa, that the club- nicknamed the ‘Healers’- have disbanded and an official further shed more light on the development.

“Well, I think that is the true position because we received a letter from the acting CMD to that effect that they won’t be able to fund the team, so we have no choice than to inform the players of the latest development and to switch off the team, but we can never tell maybe if a substantive CMD is appointed because the present one is in acting capacity, the story may change and the club return,” a top official of the team told MTNFootball.com.

JUTH FC played in the Nigeria Premier League for two successive seasons before being relegated to the Nigeria National League (NNL) in 2010.

Following a dismal campaign in the second tier football league (NNL), they were further relegated to the Nationwide League at the end of the just concluded season.
