Man Sleeps With Two Daughters, Says It’s To Save Them From Untimely Death

A 53-year-old man, Yusuf Alabi has been paraded by the Kogi State Police command for allegedly having carnal Knowledge of his two daughters.

Acting police commissioner, Austine Evbakhabokun, while parading the suspect said, Alabi was apprehended following a complaint by one of his sons, Abdulmalik, to the State Investigation and Intelligence Bureau, alleging that his father was having s*xual intercourse with two of his younger sisters.

According to Evbakhabokun, the boy was bold enough to challenge his father for committing the act, but when he did, the suspect threatened to kill him if the news got to the public, saying he was only protecting his sisters.

The CP added that the suspect has also confessed to the crime with an explanation that he did what he did to save his daughters from premature death.

While answering questions from journalists, the suspect also said none of his daughters resisted him whenever he had s*xual intercourse with them.

As if the development was not shocking enough, the suspect’s wife urged the police not to prosecute her husband saying though he might have committed the crime, but the issue is a ‘family matter’ and should be allowed to be settled in the family way.

The Nigerian constitution does not provide any clear definition for incest but under Criminal Code Act Cap 77, Laws of the federation of Nigeria 1990. Section 214 of the criminal code, it clarifies it as offences against morality.

According to the Nigerian law, offences against morality includes any person who has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of the nation, or has carnal knowledge of animal, or permits a male person to have canal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature; is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.

Incest is not criminal in some countries if it’s consensual, but in US, an offender may be sentenced to 50 years imprisonment or more.
