Former Commissioner for Finance in Delta State, Chief Bernard Okumagba, has denied being part of a team that allegedly visited the Palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom in Kokori town, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, on October 4 and were held hostage by men of the nabbed kidnap kingpin Kelvin.

In a statement, yesterday, he said: My attention has been drawn to a report on page 8 of Saturday Vanguard Newspaper of October 5, 2013, where I was reported to have visited the Palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom in Kokori town in Ethiope council on October 4, 2013 as part of the entourage of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Delta Central Senatorial Campaign Committee.

“I want to state for the avoidance of doubt that I was neither in Kokori town nor was I part of the team that visited the palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom in KokoriTown on October 4. I was in Lagos all of that October 4.”
