Super Eagles Lines Up Italy Friendly as Team B Travels to Oman- NFF Confirms.

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play the ‘Azzuri’ of Italy in an international friendly in London, as part of the build-up for the 2014 World Cup finals.

The match which has been billed for Craven Cottage-home of English Premier League side Fulham FC- is due to come up on Tuesday, November 18, two days after the final playoff match against the ‘Walyas Antelopes’ of Ethiopia in Calabar.

In a statement in Addis Ababa on Sunday, moments after Nigeria triumphed by 2-1 over Ethiopia, NFF and its match agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sports announced:

“We are pleased to confirm a top international friendly match, against world number four, Italy, on 18th November, 2013, at Fulham’s Craven Cottage. The match will kick-off at 7:45pm.”

Meanwhile, Super Eagles’s team B will face Jordan in Oman on October 26 in a friendly, as part of the country’s earnest preparation for next year’s African Nations Championship in South Africa.

The home-based Eagles are due to make a debut appearance in the tournament meant for players from the domestic league across the continent, while Jordan (Asia) are preparing to play a prospective World Cup playoff contest against Uruguay (South America) to determine who grabs the ticket to Brazil.

“We are also happy to confirm a match for our Super Eagles home team against Jordan in Oman on 28th October,” Pachon added. “This match will serve Jordan to prepare for their World Cup playoff match against Uruguay will also help Nigeria to prepare for next year’s African Nations Championship.”

The home-based Eagles, drawn alongside hosts South Africa, Mali, and Mozambique in the first round of CHAN, are expected to train in Abuja before flying out to Oman.

It will be the first of such meeting between Nigeria and Jordan.
