Ubah pledges to revive Anambra owned media outfits

LABOUR Party (LP) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, has commended the South-East zone of Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) for the honour done him during the zone’s media summit, assuring that when elected into office, he would upgrade the Anambra State Broadcasting Service and the underfunded state newspaper, the National Light.

In a statement signed by a Deputy Director in the Ifeanyi Ubah Campaign Orgiansation, Mr. Maduabuchi Akudu and made available to journalists, Ubah added that the symbolic gesture which translates to endorsement goes to recognise his support for the media and Nigeria’s film industry.

“The honour by the Southeast NUJ is significant in many ways,” the statement said, stressing that Ubah’s administration in Anambra State will give the media the right environment to play its role as the fourth estate of the realm.

The statement added: “With Ifeanyi Ubah as governor, I do not doubt that the state radio and television stations will join the league of national and international media houses to bring to the nation and the world the various transformations that will be taking place in Anambra State.
