We Didn’t Withdraw Security Details Attached To Rivers Govt Officials – Police

Mbu-Amaechi1The Rivers Police Command said on Friday that it did not withdraw the security details of some top government officials in the state.

However, Chief Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, has alleged that security details attached to his house and that of the SSG had been withdrawn.

Okocha made the allegation while addressing Newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday

Mr Ahmad Muhammad, a Deputy Superintendent of Police and the command’s Spokesman, when contacted, told the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) that the command did not take such action.

“It is not true. We (police) did not withdraw their security details and I cannot say more than this”, Muhammad said.

Okocha had alleged that “security details under the Special Protection Unit attached to my house and that of the Secretary to the state government have been withdrawn.

“As I speak, no reason was given for the action and we are now left with only one police orderly each.

“Nobody has contacted the state government to give reasons for the action and we were not given prior notice”, he said.

Okocha said the action of the police portended danger for some senior government officials as they did not have security details to guide them. (NAN)

  1. Tony Okocha God will punish you to the bottomless pit for all this your lies about Police. Is it because they don’t bring your evil dealings up to the Press? Last weekend at his home town Nkpuolo Rumuigbo town hall precisely you instructed you support to stop and beat up any group against your interest meeting within your community that led to your boys shooting guns to chase GDI members having their meeting at your Community for its members. Tomorrow you go on air to say Police and President are doing this and that against you and your press patronising Governor for your civil rights and freedom that you least give to the poor masses of Rivers State. Always practise what you preach so that we can grant you audience next time.
