Shooting Stars management official Ade Somefun has predicted an instant return to top flight football for the Ibadan club, bound for the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season.
Despite being relegated to the lower division, the ‘Afonja Warriors’ beat Warri Wolves 2-0 on Wednesday in their last home game in the Glo Premier League with the final match of the season due for Sunday.
“We are not happy about our relegation but we will go down with pride and we will still rely on the team supporters not relent in their efforts as we still count on them to back us,” Sofefun said.
“I know we are going to bounce back very soon because the board is ready to go the extra mile to make things happen.”
3SC are the last team on the 20-man league standing with 46 points from 37 games.
They returned to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in 2008, after a two-year spell in the second division.
