ASUU Strike: FG Resolved To Open Nigerian Varsities Nextweek With Or Without ASUU

The latest news coming your way on ASUU strike is that the FG is set to open Nigerian Universities with or without ASUU, according to ScanNews Nigeria.

asuu-logoPresident Goodluck Jonathan will on Monday, November 4, meet with the leadership of ASUU at the Presidential Villa.

An official of the Vice President’s office who pleaded anonymity told Scan News that all hands are now on deck to ensure that the Universities resume next week.

The President will at next Monday’s meeting present to the ASUU leadership the administration’s last concession for them to call off the prolonged strike.

A source at the Presidential Villa noted that if ASUU fails to call off, the Federal Government will then resort to plan B, which will be to compulsorily open the Universities, using the instrumentality of the governing councils and the school managements.

Already, most of the governing councils of the Universities have started meeting to work out modalities for the compulsory re-opening of the Universities should ASUU fail to honour the personal request of President Jonathan.

It was gathered that security report available to the Presidency may have necessitated this line of action to salvage the Universities system from the direction it is facing at present.

  1. Though it’s a great thing for the FG to open the Nigerian Federel Universities, but come to fink of it mr president, if someone’s owing you due to contract, letz say N1b and promises to give u @ a perticular time, but failed to do as d person had said, and u found urself in a position of asking the person abt ur money and the person’s response is ” I don’t av d money and d person still want u to enter into another contract wit u, what will u do?

  2. Mr president! Wen u go 4 plan b, nd u refuse 2 meet asuu’s demand… Re u gonna b d 1 to lecture us or which kind shit re u spitting.. Hw will u xpect d lecturers 2 resume work without doing wot dey want,.. Mr ebele! U beta cm 2 ur senses

  3. Great Nigeria Student! Plz let’s be wise. Those politician in power want to kill public universities so that private universities will take over. Most of them own private University nd some have shares in some private universities. Can U compare the infrastructures, libraries, lecture Halls, hostels in private universities with public universities. Imagine 200 students receiving lecture in a class meant for 50 students. Most especially University of Abuja. Plz Nigeria student let’s join Asuu to fight this battle even if Asuu also have their own personal interest. FG want to kill public Universities so that their own private universities will take over.

  4. Analyist, for ur information, the gov is not owing ASUU for work done but the buLk of the agreement is on investing in the Uniersity to upgrade our education sector.
Also, even if somebody is owing u and is giving u part instantlly promising to pay the remaining over time, isn’t he more sincere than those who entered into the agreement and hv nt given u anything till now.
ASUU hv allowed themselves to b used as a political instrument against the present administration by the opposition, what a shame for Profs. & Drs to allow some illitrates us their heads.
If the school is re opened I can assure u that lectures will go on cos most of the lectures are nt happy with ASUU body again.

  5. Its better with plan A -, Sir with due repect, Nigerian students really need a place of peace in our area of academics. Looking at things in the past, you people didnt go through all these things in your own days, why now depraving us of our rights. You cannot false the lecturers to work, unless you implement their request- MAY God help you, and the country at large.
