Emmanuel Amuneke will reportedly be elevated to the head coach position of the Nigeria Under-17 team as Coach Manu Garba prepares to lead the country’s Under-20.
Following the promotion of the victorious Golden Eaglets to the senior U-20 ranks, Garba will be elevated to lead the Flying Eagles as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) aims to ensure continuity.
Nduka Ugbade, the Assistant Coach 2 to the just concluded Fifa U-17 World Cup will also join Garba on the bench of the Flying Eagles.
The new Flying Eagles are due to set up a training camp by march at the latest.
Amuneke will then be elevated to head coach of the U-17 with two assistants named, while Emeka Amadi retains his position as goalkeeper trainer.
“We want to ensure that the present U-17 team grow with their coach. So as we are elevating the players, we are also elevating the coaches,” a top official of the NFF revealed to MTNFootball.com.
“However, we have ensured continuity by keeping Emmanuel Amuneke, so we can sustain the style, character of the Golden Eaglets.”
