As part of preparation for the 2013/14 Nigeria Professional Football League season, Gombe United has dropped six players from its squad.
An official of the club disclosed that the decision to let go of the affected players was made by the ‘Desert Scorpions’ Belgian coach, Maurice Cooreman, who is presently back in his home country on a family visit.
Cooreman is also interested in bringing in about six new players to boost his squad.
Amongst players transfer-listed by the 70-year-old tactician are the likes of Oliver Agbo, Idris Isah, Fraklin Freeman, Sarki Audu, Samuel Utsaha and Abdullahi Mohammed.
The former Kaduna United and Warri Wolves handler is said to have submitted a tactical review of his team performance last season, in which he made recommendation of players to be retained as well as those who were considered surplus to requirement.
Gombe finished the 2012/13 Glo Premier League season seventh on the log with 55 points.
