40e6a5a0078ce9056ce9f0fbf914a906The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied calling for submission of applications from suitable candidates for a “massive nationwide recruitment 2013”.

While distancing itself from a recruitment portal it described as ‘phony’, the commission noted that it was not conducting any recruitment at the moment, and the sponsors of the said portal are apparently out to defraud the public.

INEC Chairman – Prof. Attahiru Jega’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kayode Idowu, who made this known yesterday, quoted the portal as “http://www.jobsatinec.com/2012/11/19/independent-national-electoral-commission-inec-massive-nationwide-recruitment-2013/ which puts seven career positions on offer.

“INEC has already invited the security agencies to uncover and apprehend the sponsors of the recruitment portal. Meanwhile, prospective applicants are strongly advised to shun the portal, so as not to get defrauded”, Idowu said.
