President Goodluck Jonathan has conveyed his sincere condolences to Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State over the death of his father, Alhaji Shehu Shema yesterday at the National Hospital, Abuja.
President Jonathan in a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati in Abuja on Monday, described the deceased as not only an accomplished farmer but a notable leader and urged the governor and members of his family as they mourn, to also give thanks to Almighty Allah for late Shehu’s long and fulfilled life.
“The President believes that in passing on at the grand old age of 86, Alhaji Shehu will return to his Maker in peace and contentment having produced worthy offspring such as Governor Shema who will proudly carry on his legacy of worthy and selfless service to their community, state and nation.
“President Jonathan joins Governor Shema and his family in praying that Almighty Allah will receive his late father’s soul and grant him eternal rest in Paradise” the statement read.
