Two suspected gunmen have been killed by the Joint Military Taskforce Tuesday morning during a raid on the insurgent hideout located at Gayawa village, Ungogo local Government area of Kano State.

The combat operation which lasted about one and half hours was a product of an intelligence build up by the military following the arrest of fleeing suspects from Maiduguri and Katsina.

Two AK 47 riffles were recovered from the fleeing insurgents, while their Nissan car was equally impounded by the military.

Security sources in the restive northern commercial city revealed that Nigerian troops came under fire by the suspected terrorists at Gayawa villages as explosives went off within the vicinity.
