Kano To Spend N10bn On Construction Of ‘Longest’ Flyover In The Country

Rabiu KwankwasoRabiu KwankwasoThe sum of N10 billion has been approved by the Kano State government for the construction of a 1.7 kilometer flyover within the metropolis.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, who said the project would start from the Murtala Muhammed Way, through Sabon Gari Market to Yankura and terminate at Wapa roundabout.

According to Yusuf, construction works will begin next month with a completion period of 14 months with Chinese firm, TEC Engineering awarded the contract.

He added that when completed, the flyover would be the longest in the country.

The commissioner urged the contractors to respect the terms of the contract by deploying skilled personnel and quality materials to ensure that the project meets the required standard and stands the test of time.
