Former U-20 striker Olarenwaju Kayode opened scoring for his new club Maccabi Netanya in a 2-0 win over Maccabi Umm al-Fahm on Friday.
Kayode got his goal in the 82nd minute to send the home fans into delirium and has expressed his delight at getting the vital goal for the Israeli League table toppers.
“I just want to thank God for making me score in our game today (Friday). Indeed He is a good God,” Kayode said.
Netanya remain top of the league table with 23 points from 10 matches.
Kayode was recently involved in a transfer scuffle that involved top Ivorian side Asec and a former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) administrator Taiwo Ogunjobi before Fifa freed him.
