Moses, Says He’s a ‘Proud’ Winner of the 2013 Nigerian Footballer of the Year Award.

Liverpool and Nigeria international Victor Moses has expressed delights about winning the Footballer of the Year prize at the 2013 Nigerian Sports Award held at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, on Tuesday.

The on-loan Chelsea winger beat John Obi Mikel and Sunday Mba to clinch the award for the first time.

The Super Eagles winger will hope to double his personal accolades for the year 2013 by the time the three-man final shortlist for the BBC African Player of the Year award is revealed.

Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi was presented with the Nigerian coach of the Year award at the gala held on Tuesday.

Portugal-based Nigeria table tennis international Aruna Qadri, defeated Olumide Oyedeji and Ike Diogu, both of D’Tigers to claim the Ball Sports Personality of the Year award.

Blessing Okagbare won the Track and Field Star of the Year award while upcoming athlete Divine Oduduru won the discovery of the Year award.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, won the Sports Administrator of the Year award.

Executive Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, claimed the Sports Governor of the Year award. Governor Uduaghan said the other nominees, Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State and Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State were equally winners.
