Pioneer ICPC Chairman, Akanbi Loses Wife

akanbiRetired Justice Mustapha Akanbi, the pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practises and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), on Friday, lost his wife, Alhaja Musatu Akanbi.

A statement issued by the retired ICPC boss in Ilorin noted that the wife died in the early hours of Friday at an Indian hospital.

Akanbi described the death as a rude shock and prayed God to grant her eternal rest.

He said the corpse of Musatu was expected in the country by Monday.

She is survived by her husband and six children, grand children and great grand children,

Meanwhile, the GRA residence of Akanbi, a former President of Court of Appeal, has been playing host to dignitaries who have been coming to commiserate with the family.

Prominent among them were retired and serving judges from across the country, top government officials and associates. (NAN)
