It was a heroic return for Col. Benjamin Aboho (rtd.) yesterday as he led hundreds of supporters of the All Peoples Congress (APC) in North East senatorial district of Benue State back to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Aboho, a member of the House of Representatives for Kwande/Ushongo federal constituency and the decampees were received back to the PDP fold in a colourful ceremony held at the ACC playground, Adikpo in Kwande local government area of the state.
Addressing the returnees, an elated Governor Gabriel Suswam said PDP remains the only party to beat in the state and that those retracing their steps back to the party had made a wise decision.
Gov. Suswam also enjoined other members of the PDP, who earlier left to join other political parties for various reasons, to make haste and return to where they rightfully belong.
According to him, the returnees have no better option than to return to the ruling party in the state especially now that they have realized they were strange bedfellows with members of the APC.
Justifying his decision to return back to the party he originally belonged before pitching tent with the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) under whose platform he won his election to the National Assembly, Aboho said it was borne out of the developmental strides of the present administration.
