Gambo Mohammed, Yinka Adedeji, Doubtful for CHAN.

Super Eagles officials have named Gambo Mohammed and Yinka Adedeji on the injury watch-list ahead of the deadline day for the naming of Coach Stephen Keshi’s 23-man squad for next month’s African Nation Championship (CHAN).

Keshi is expected to release his squad list for the tournament, which kicks off on January 11, this week, but sources within the camp says the duo faces a late fitness test for the tournament.

“We have worries medically but we will wait till the last minute to see if the players can pull through,” admitted Keshi.

Solomon Kwambe, who had a good game against Gokana United, and Pillars central defender Umar Zango, who did not make the trip for the weekend’s test game in Port Harcourt, are also carrying knocks.

Pillars sriker Gambo Mohammed has been nursing a hamstring complaint and so did not travel to Port Harcourt while Adedji, who travelled for the match and was listed, pulled up a hamstring injury during warm ups.

The team’s medical staff said the chances of the players are 50-50 as the date for the final 23-man squad list draws nearer.
