Gov. Aliyu Inaugurates 100 SURE-P Taxis For Varsity Graduates

Babangida AliyuTo boost intra-city mass transit as well as provide employment for youths, the Niger State Subsidy Reinvestment Programme (SURE-P) has purchased 100 Kia Rio cars at the cost of N330 million for onward distribution to university graduates.

Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State, who made the announcement during the inauguration of the cars yesterday in Minna, the state capital, stated that the cars are to be distributed to the graduates at a subsidised rate as part of government’s effort to reduce unemployment in the state.

According to the governor, the cars, which have a unit cost of N3.3 million, would be given to the graduates at the rate of N2.3 million to be repaid in monthly installments of N60,000 spread over a 36-month period.
