Iheanacho Leaves CHAN Training for Man City.

Kelechi Iheanacho was yesterday released by Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi for a trip to England where he is expected to commence contract talks with English Premier League outfit Manchester City.

Eagles media officer, Ben Olaiya, quoted Keshi as saying that he had to sanction the departure of the Most Valuable Player of the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup after his father, James, had personally put a call to him requesting the release of his son for the journey to Manchester.

“Initially a young man came declaring that he was the agent of Iheanacho, but I declined to deal with him until I hear from the family because the boy is still a minor.

“It was soon after my rejection that I got a call from his father who told me that they have gotten traveling visa to the United Kingdom and that I should oblige him with his son’s release.

“I did and told the young man to go and do the nation proud at whichever club he finally chooses to settle down with,” Keshi was quoted as saying.

Keshi also cautioned the persons in charge of the player, who he acknowledged to be a budding talent, to handle him gently and professionally.
