In normal tradition, the organizers of the epic Headies Awards have announced budding artiste Brian Toritseju Edwards aka ‘Ink,’ as the winner of The Headies 2013 Rookie Competition.

The 20-year-old act beat Axterix, Kola soul, Lil Miss Miss and Pucado with 1, 769 votes to emerge the winner of the contest. The result however leaves Axterix and Kola Soul as the first and second runner up respectively.

Ink, who already has a couple of singles and has Dammy Krane on one of them, performed on The Headies 2013 stage yesterday, while the first and second runner up, Axterix and Kola soul, performed at the awards’ after party.

According to the complete voting result, Axterix scored 844 votes, Kola Soul, 525 votes, Lil Miss Miss, 142 votes and Pucado 61 votes. Ink’s 1, 769 votes apparently dwarfed those of his peers’ and put him ontop of them all.

Total valid votes however were 3, 665, while invalid votes were 324.
