
Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang yesterday presented an Appropriation bill of N228, 742,602,356.00 for the 2014 fiscal year.
A quick check of the budget proposal indicates it is N95bn or 46 per cent higher than the 2013 budget of N133bn.
A further breakdown shows that N81.6bn or 36 per cent of the total budget was proposed as Recurrent Expenditure while N147bn was set aside for capital expenditure.
Presenting the budget tagged, “Budget of Continuity and Inclusive Growth IV” before the State House of Assembly, Gov. Jang said its major focus would be the completion of ongoing projects/programmes and the consolidation of the gains made in the implementation of the 10-point agenda of his first term and the Three Pillar Policy of his second term.
“Of this amount [recurrent], N22, 241,056,659.00, representing 27.24 per cent is for personnel cost, while N59, 393,616,140.00) is for overhead cost”, he said.
