Jonathan Submits Himself To Right Commission Over Obasanjo’s Allegations

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday submitted himself to the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, for probe over criminal allegations against him by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

It would be recalled that the former President Obasanjo wrote an 18-page open letter to Jonathan, in which he accused the incumbent President of incompetence, engaging in anti-party activities, ethnicism and training about 1,000 snipers ahead of the 2015 polls.

However, Jonathan in response denied all the allegations. Moreover, the President is specifically inviting the rights commission to unravel the truth in the allegation that his government had begun training over 1,000 snipers to terminate his political opponents.

In a letter to the commission, President Jonathan is seeking for a thorough investigation of the allegations against him, touching on alleged human rights abuses.

The letter, signed by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Mohammed Adoke, SAN, has been already submitted to the NHRC.

According to the sources close to the Presidency, similar letters were written to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The two anti-graft agencies are to probe allegations of economic crimes and official corruption against the Jonathan’s administration as contained in Obasanjo’s letter.

  1. How can EFCC or ICPC prove GEJ ? They are his care and control they are his witch hunting Dogs. So how can they bark and bite him?

  2. Stop fooling us, no any anti graft agency can come out n say boldly dat GEJ is guilty of d allegation putten against him by d former president but all we know is dat in every rumour there must be an atom of truth.

  3. If u people are not ok with him for going to EFCC or ICPC NHRC will be ok by U. Remember it was establish by OBJ and headed by Ribdu and all these are not enough u guys can call on westerner to come and probe him.

  4. No other president in this country has ever subjected himself for investigation. For this one to subject himself for investigation is credit for him.
