The Kano State Government said it received 56 persons out of the number of those deported into the country from Saudi Arabia.
The Director-General of the state Hisba Board, Abba Sufi, said on Friday in Kano that the deportees, who hailed from the state, were brought to Kano from Abuja in two batches.
Mr. Sufi said that all the deportees were in good health, adding that two among them were from Niger Republic while one was from Gombe State.
He said that the board had already handed over the Niger nationals to their consulate office in Kano, while the one from Gombe had been handed over to the state welfare office.
The director-general said the state government had offered transport fare to the 53 deportees to enable them connect with their families.
“The state Deputy Governor was here on Thursday where he addressed the deportees and gave them assurance that the state government will support them.”
“All those from the state have been reunited with their families and will be given assistance to enable them be on their own’’, he said.
