FIFA has picked Sunday Mba’s winning strike in the final of the 2013 African Cup of Nations as one of the defining moments of 2013.
This is according to a rating conducted on the official website of the world football’s governing body.
The goal ended Nigeria’s 19-year wait for a continental title. After a resilient display by Burkina Faso- Nigeria’s opponent in the final- Mba finally broke the deadlock by flicking the ball over his Stallions goalkeepers head into the net.

The Warri Wolves striker is in contention for the 2013 African Player of the Year (based in Africa) award, which will be announced at the Glo-Caf Awards Gala billed for Lagos, Nigeria, on Thursday, January 9.
