The Nasarawa State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the defection of the former governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a great relieve to the party and deserves a fun fair celebration to that effect.
Making the assertion at the party secretariat in Lafia, the state capital at the weekend, PDP Chairman in Nasarawa state, Mr. Illiya Yunana, told journalists that former governor Abdullahi Adamu was the brain behind the party’s loss of the governorship seat to APC in 2011.
“He openly told us that he was the one that crowned Aliyu Akwe Doma as governor and decided to dethrone him through his various anti party activities and the division he caused in the party then”, Yunana lamented.
According to Yunana “the defection of Senator Abdullahi Adamu is a very welcome development to the state PDP. Very soon we shall organize praise worship to all and sundry where the ulamas and pastors will come to the party secretariat to sing praises to God in memory of his exit and more so he did not leave with any member of the party”.
The chairman thanked all members of the party for their support and turn out which can best be described as mammoth crowd during the recent state wide tour embarked upon by the state PDP in the 13 local governments with the aim to say a ‘thank you’ to all their supporters for remaining steadfast even after the loss of the 2011 governorship election.
Illiya further enjoined members and supporters of PDP in Nasarawa state to remain resolute saying “with the exit of the likes of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party is set to reclaim it stolen mandate in 2015 governorship election”.
He also called on the citizens of Nasarawa state to embrace peace and live with each other as their brother’s keeper and not allow themselves to be used by the APC-led government to cause violence anymore in the state.
