Sporting Lisbon Takes Pole Position for Iheanacho’s Signature- Reports.

Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Iheanacho has been linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon.

There have been reports that representatives of the Portuguese giants have been in contact with Taye Academy, agents of the player who was voted MVP of the 2013 Fifa Under-17 World Cup.

Sporting have slapped a €300,000 bid on the Nigeria youth international- €50,000 more than Porto’s offer for the midfielder- according to allnigeriasoccer.com.

It is understood that Sporting Lisbon have received assurances from Taye Accdemy and now wants to thrash out personal terms with James Iheanacho, Kelechi’s father as well as Henry Galeano, the midfielder’s personal agent.

If an agreement is eventually reached by all three parties, the player is expected to sign a three-year deal and his father should get the sum of €300,000.

The recent development now makes Sporting Lisbon favourite to land the teenage player, after Manchester City, Porto and Udinese had all previously expressed interests.
