These pictures may look like real humans, but they are actually life-like sculptures moulded with clay.
A couple spoon on a stone slab bed, a mother cradles her baby and a giant man’s face looks stunningly realistic for the models which have in fact been created in a workshop.
London-based sculptor Ron Mueck creates the hyper-realistic sculptures by hand and they range from heart-warming to slightly unsettling.
He has managed to make a couple under an umbrella look like they are sat in the room with you, while another shows a newborn baby still bloody with its umbilical chord attached.
Mueck sculpts the masterpieces in clay inside a plaster mould, before replacing it with a mixture of fibreglass, silicone and resin.
He has been making them since 1996, after moving from his former job as a model maker and puppeteer for children’s television.
Mueck also likes to play with scale to make some of his works large while others are tiny.
