A 12-year-old boy who took his grandmother’s car on a joyride that ended at U.S. customs at the border told cops he learned to drive from video games.

“The grandmother heard her car start and leave the driveway,” Const. Derek Watson of the Niagara Regional Police said. “She looked for her keys and noticed them missing from her jacket pocket.”

Police issued a description of the car and its mini driver to all agencies in the area. A short time later, U.S. Border Patrol reported they had a boy in custody – he had attempted to cross Niagara’s Lewiston-Queenston Bridge into the United States.

The boy apparently learned well from his video games. There was no damage to the grandmother’s Nissan Altima.
