Agbim, Earns Keshi’s Plaudits.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has praised goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim for his masterclass contribution in Sunday’s 3-1 win over hosts South Africa.

The on-loan Rangers goalie pulled off a couple of great saves to deny South Africa a point in the final Group B tie, in front of a sell out crowd at the Cape Town Stadium.

“People have been saying a lot about the goalkeeper but I have not seen a perfect human being in the world,” said Keshi after the game.
Agbim was called into action early on to save Tefu Mashamaite quick header as the hosts looked to steal an early lead.

Striker Bernard Parker had a glaring opportunity to get the hosts back in the game on the hour mark only for his bicycle kick- after evading the offside trap- to be neatly kept out by the Nigerian goalkeeper.

Agbim kept to his promise when he again denied Mashego on 88 minutes as Nigeria held on to a clear-cut 3-1 win to finish as group runners-up.

“He might have had his lowest moment but today, he produced some scintillating performances,” Keshi added.
