Al-Makura’s Aide Resigns

Al-MakuraMr Simon Dolly, the Special Assistant on Christian Religious Matters to Gov. Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, has resigned his appointment.

Dolly, who is the National President of the Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Tuesday that the decision was to enable him concentrate on the mandate given to him by the Nigerian Christian youths.

He dismissed insinuations that his resignation was as a result of an alleged misunderstanding between him and the governor.

Dolly, who appreciated the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve the state, however, said the task before him was enormous and had to lessen the burden.

He urged the governor not to relent in his efforts towards the provision of infrastructure and socio-economic development in the state.

On security, he said the organisation had declared 7-day prayers to seek God’s intervention in resolving the security challenges bedevilling the country.

Dolly called on all well-meaning Nigerians to contribute their quota in tackling the challenges facing the country.

He called on Christian youths across the country not to allow themselves to be used as agents of destruction by selfish politicians. (NAN)
