Navy Appoints Two Flag Officers, Redeploys 264 Senior Officers

The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Joseph Ezeoba, has approved the appointment of 266 officers with Rear Admiral Harry Ngonadi as the new FOC Eastern Naval Command and Rear Admiral S.I. Alade as the new Flag Officer Commanding, FOC, Western Naval Command, Lagos.

Other appointments released yesterday affected 20 Rear Admirals, 97 Commodores, 99 Captains, four Lieutenant Commanders, 44 Lieutenants and two Sub-Lieutenants.

The Rear Admirals affected included A.O.A. Ikioda, who moves from National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies to Defence Headquarters as Director of Equipment, Standardisation and Harmonisation,  J.O. Aikhomu, formerly Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command is now appointed Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters while I.E. Ibas, formerly Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, is now the
Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji.

Austin Oyagha who was Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters, will report to Defence Headquarters as Director of Development just as the former Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command; A.I. Ajuonu moves to Defence Headquarters as Director of Sports.

A statement signed by the Director of Naval Information, Commodore Kabir Aliyu stated that Rear Admiral D.O. Osuofa was appointed as a Moderator at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, while Rear Admiral S.U. Chinweuba is to move to Naval Headquarters as Chief of Naval Engineering.

Also, A.A. Yusuf is the new Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Engineering, College Sapele even as OP Ozojiofor is now the Navy Secretary. [Vanguard]
