Ogun NASS Members Fault Adoption Of Amosun For Second Term

Ibikunle-AmosunMembers of the National Assembly from Ogun State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday condemned the process that led to the adoption of Governor Ibikunle Amosun for a second term.

They called on the party’s national leadership to wade into the matter and call to order, those trying to circumvent the party’s constitution, regulations and directive, so that the ongoing transition process in the party would not derail.

It would be recalled that last Monday, some chieftains of Ogun APC during a stakeholders’ meeting at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, the state capital, adopted the governor for a second term.

In a statement yesterday, Senators Gbenga Obadara (Ogun Central), Adegbenga Kaka (Ogun East) and Akin Odunsi (West); and Honourables Olumide Osoba, Segun Williams, Adekunle Adeyemi, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, Kehinde Odeneye, Bukola Buraimoh and Babatunde Ogunola dismissed the endorsement as a “charade”.

They described the process as faulty and the endorsement “an exercise in futility”.

The legislators said: “How can the endorsement of an aspirant, which is strictly a party issue, become the responsibility of the governor’s employees?”

  1. All these people are idiot for saying that endorsement of Senator Ibikunle Amosun for second term is illegal because they do not benefit illegally from this government. THEY are all thief including Gbenga Kaka who know him before now, and if care is not taken APC will loose is face in Ogun State because their is no candidate who can stand against Amosun.
