Glo Premier League champions Kano Pillars have reportedly signed a memorandum of understanding with international sports consultants G-Sports.
Kano State government has endorsed the partnership, which was greed recently by the two parties, and it is expected to run for five years.
According to Kano State sports commissioner, Professor Umar Farouk Jibril, who spoke to supersport.com, the signing of the MOU was necessitated by the need to “remove the financial burden of running the club by the government.”
The Dubai-based consultants “will now obtain and manage all kinds of sponsorship, media marketing, merchandising, food and beverages, hospitality concept of Kano Pillars,” Professor Jibril added.
The first phase of the understanding, which involves the endorsement of global sportswear makers, Kappa, as the official kit maker of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions for the next five years, have been completed by the Kano State government.
Kappa Sportswear will supply the Sai Masugida product worth $1 million (US dollar) beginning from the 2013/14 season.
