“We were five that carried out the operation. I was familiar with Uncle Joe’s shop because I used to buy things from there. Job and I planned the stealing initially but he brought some people. We entered the shop through the back. That day, we moved from my shop where the plan to break the shop was hatched. On December 22, 2013, we got to Uncle Joe’s shop around 10.30p.m. and took 32 laptops, eight NIKON cameras, memory cards and handsets.
“I was nabbed in my girlfriend’s house. I gave her one of the seven laptops that were given to me as my own share. I think detectives went to the house to question the father and he called me to his house. As I got there, policemen emerged and arrested me.
They all confessed to committing the crime but pleaded for leniency, promising not to go against the law again.
